that has come for a time to teach us to look
close in because we are so often set on far
horizons.

  1. Beautiful observation, Jamie! I've felt the same about darkness, that it draws close the reach of our senses -- with the astounding exception that it opens to our gaze to something we could never see during daylight: the stars.
